With the academic session coming to an end, students all over India are eagerly waiting to see the results of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 and 12 examinations.  With 42 lakh plus students appearing for these milestone examinations, the wait is on.  Below is a complete rundown on what will be happening with the CBSE Board Results 2025.



Projected Date of Release


Although the CBSE has not officially declared the date of the result, trends based on past experience indicate that results are most probably going to be announced in early May 2025.  In particular, it is being reported that results will be published on May 7, 2025, at 12 PM.  This is based on the pattern of the board declaring results early in May as in 2023 and 2024.  


Examination Overview


The CBSE held the Class 10 and 12 board exams from February 15 to March 18, 2025.  Around 24.12 lakh students took the Class 10 exams, and around 17.88 lakh students took the Class 12 exams.  These exams were conducted at 7,842 centers across the country, with a wide variety of subjects.

Class 10 (2024):

Pass Percentage: 93.12%

Girls: 94.25%

Boys: 92.27%

Best Performing District: Trivandrum (99.75%)

Class 12 (2024):

Pass Percentage: 87.33%

Girls: 90.68%

Boys: 84.67%

Best Performing District: Trivandrum (99.91%)

Post-Result Procedures


1. Marksheet Collection:

Although online mark sheets will be provided, students should collect the hard copies from their respective schools.

2. Re-evaluation and Rechecking:

If students are not satisfied with their results, CBSE has provisions for re-evaluation and rechecking.

Details and timelines for these procedures will be notified on the official CBSE website once the results are announced.

3. Compartment Exams:

Students who fail in one or two subjects can appear for compartment exams.

The timetable and application procedure for these exams will be notified after the main result announcement.
